Los Angeles - Part 4

Sunday (15th): Recovering from what happened yesterday, we just went to Melrose to thrift shop. Symphani, Keeleigh, Zaida, and I all together for just two or so hours. First to a place called Wasteland, a shop that sells used clothes. A leather coat I was $250 and a sweater was $60, so I guess you could tell that we didn't buy anything. Most of the shops on that street were expensive and I wasn't planning on buying anything, but then I found a dress. That dark red wine colour I love, I'll be wearing it for my birthday. Other than that, we didn't really do anything that I remember and Jasmine was probably sick. Actually, we went to the mall.

Saturday (16th): Venice is where I will be living when I graduate. I swear, it felt like Europe and it has the beach, it's beyond artsy. I fell in love. I know it's not nice compared to other parts of LA but wow it suits me. It even has those modern beach houses that are breathtaking. It would be a dream to live there one day. Zaida (red dress), Keeleigh (black dress), and I took an Uber there, drove through Topanga canyon and down PCH. We got all dressed up to take cute photos and we did just that. It might have been one of my favourite days during the three weeks there in LA. For a late lunch we had a Mexican place called El Tarasco. After photos, food, walking down the boardwalk, and the sunset, we walked all the way to Santa Monica. Uber from Santa Monica Blvd. back to the apartment. Overall, I belong in Venice.

Sunday (17th): Back to Melrose for the Sunday market. I fell in love again, because this market was beautiful. I would go every sunday if I lived there. I bought a new jacket for only $15 because my jean jacket was stolen from when we got Jasmine's car broken into at Runyun canyon. It was just Zaida, Keeleigh, and I shopping today. It was 75 degrees, the best weather I got out of the entire trip. That night, I can't remember if I took Jasmine to the doctor or the following day. But I did, she has been feeling horrible lately due to the virus and such. So we got her hydrated and medicated, Umami Burger after for food. Then, I think we went to her friend's for a photo shoot, she had babie bunnies and I fell in love again. Thenakediaries.

Monday (18th): Slept in. Was suppose to go hiking at the Hollywood sign but plans got cancelled. So I guess I'll have to hike that next time I come, which will be soon. Laundry day, I think (days blurred together). Got Ubatuba Acai bowls with Zaida and Keeleigh. A watermelon salad at Eureka with them as well. Jasmine was still sick.

Tuesday (19th): Last day. Got breakfast with Jasmine and Maya at Blu Jam. Crunchy French Toast with the vanilla bean crream. Go there and order that, trust me. Maya (Danny) knows the best places, they were the ones to show us Ubatuba Acai bowls. Got Jasmine's car window replaced. Rained all day. Packed. Watched a movie and laid around with Jasmine and Maya. Dinner at Cheesecake with a friend, Buffalo Wild wings to just hang out with Maya and Jasmine and then a strawberry shake at In-N-Out drive through with them. That night I danced and hung out with Keeleigh and Jasmine while Zaida slept. Went to bed at 3am and got up to leave at 6:30am for my 9am flight at LAX.

So sad, I was sitting on that plane in Chicago waiting for them to open the door for us to get off and I got so depressed. Jasmine made me feel like it was home. LA was a dream, felt like it never happened. It's crazy to think I was there for three weeks. I met so many cool people and did some crazy stuff, saw beautiful things, and ate lots of good food. I decided, since I cannot transfer because my credits won't go through and I only have a year and a half left, I'm moving to LA or London. Wherever I get the best job (either teaching art or working in an art museum).


Things I forgot to tell you:

• When I went to Disneyland, Cinderella called me a princess and I melted a little inside. (Also met Snow White and Belle)
  
  
• Driving down the 405 with Jasmine, we saw an entire car on fire.
  
  
• Driving back home with Jasmine, Keeleigh, and Zaida we were about to be killed. A psycho guy tried rearing and check breaking us, and crashing into us on the side. Just messing with us. No other reason, I swear. He was laughing at us and just kept messing with us. I was started to cry because it was almost the scariest thing in my life. I thought we were going to die, I am not being overly dramatic too.
  
  
• Besides that, I love driving in LA. With Jasmine's car, it was a beautiful feeling. I drove myself to the airport because Jasmine was half asleep at 6:30am. I drove through Topanga canyon during sunrise and down PCH. Infinite. 

Here's a video of the videos I do have... I would have had all of the videos and pictures from my Snapchat because i saved them all but I have no idea what happened to them when I was adding them to iMovies. So this is all I have..too bad because you're missing out...

             

Los Angeles - Part 3

I'm behind on my blogging and feeling rushed so I'm going to leave out a lot of details. Not sure if I said, but I extended my trip until the 20th (3 weeks total).

Friday (the 8th): Went to Disneyland with Jasmine. Met up with my friend Maryam that lives in Anaheim. I met her at Heathrow airport when arriving in England for our study abroad experience at University of Kent, she is super sweet and nice. It marked a year on the 14th of January that I arrived in England, so sad. Back to Disney, I also met my tumblr friend for four years there. Shayna is a total babe online and in person, it was so weird but amazing to finally meet this girl. When coming back to LA, Jasmine and I went to a party on top of Hollywood Hills in a beautiful mansion with SuperDuperKyle, SuperDuperHero, or crew (I'm not sure). Also, some youtubers and vine people. The view was something else.

Saturday (9th): I don't remember anything but hiking around Malibu at the Magu State Park... Got a view of the ocean and PCH (Pacific Coast Highway) with my friend.

Sunday (10th): Had Acai brazillian bowl with Jasmine, Maya, Danny, and Eden. So good. So good. Google it if you dont know what it is. Then took Maya's car to go shopping while her and Jasmine worked. Then did some of my online class. Went to Maya's to hang out with people later that night. Maya is a doll. She is so sweet.

Monday (11th): Another acai bowl because so good. So good. Jasmine starting to get sick, so Symphani and I went shopping. She showed me what kind of foundation I needed, also bought a beauty blender. Now I love doing my make up. She is a youtube makeup star. Check out her channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/SymmieWimmie16 . Then that night I went out with a friend for a canyon cruise and saw half of LA and some of the ocean. Tried sneaking up to a little spot but got caught by security. Then headed to Malibu beach to just sit.

Tuesday (12th): Symphani's 23rd birthday. Celebrated at Cheesecake Factory. Zaida and Keeleigh came that night. I haven't seen Zaida since high school (like 3 years?). Keeleigh is Zaida's fun friend. Some people came over later too.

Wednesday (13th): I went to a friend's place and got some Pollo Loco, a burrito. Then back to the single apartment with five people staying in. Took some photos, went grocery shopping. In-N-Out burger. Sprinkles at The Grove. I got Carrot and Cinnamon Sugar.

Thursday (14th): Went hiking and yeah... got our car broken into. So Runyun canyon on a cloudy day with Zaida and Keeleigh. Jasmine was sick so she let us take her car there. Everything going great, the hike was fun and got some cool photos. Walking back to the car, we discover the back window completely shattered and their purses were taken. They took my jean jacket that I got from Primark in England, but luckily I had my wallet with me in my yoga pants. Well, that was the entire day basically because they lost their wallets and Keeleigh got her social security card stolen too, her Polroid camera, and makeup stolen. Poor, sick Jasmine had to get her car fixed.. thank god for insurance. The parking enforcement told us that cars get broken into a lot there, and the cops did nothing. Absolutely nothing, not even a police report. That night was slow, we just went to sleep early. It was a crappy day.

Los Angeles - Part 2

Days are starting to blur together. I decided to extend my stay until the 20th because I just hated the thought of leaving this place. So, I will be here a total of three weeks. Tuesday, was a laid back kind of day. I worked on some of my online class and later in the day we went to Maya's place. Jasmine did a photoshoot with Maya and I hung out with Sonny. After, we went to Pink Taco for dinner. Walked the Hollywood walk of fame later and then bed.

Wednesday, I went to MOCA (The Broad) with a friend. This is probably my favourite museum in LA. It had Kara Walker, Jeff Koons, Barbara Kruger, Chuck Close, Keith Harring, William Kentridge, and an by far my favourite video installation piece. It was called The Visitors score, by Ragnar Kjartansson (2012). I'll attach a video of what I got out of it and an audio. Closed my eyes for a few minutes, it was so peaceful and calming. Had a unique and artsy character about the piece. It was a bunch of projections of people singing and/or playing an instruments around a small dark room, at the end of their video, the individuals in the individual projections all came together in one projection. I'm terrible at explaining so hopefully you understand when you see it. Later, Jasmine and I picked up Symphony (@thisissymphony) at LAX. She is does makeup tutorials on youtube, and she is absolutely beautiful and nice. Later, on the 12th (Symphony's birthday) Zaida her friendwill be coming... Zaida is an old friend from high school, I don't think I've seen her since graduation! It will be five girls in one apartment for a few days. Oh, also Wednesday night, we went to a house to hang out with their friend, Brick. He is from The SuperDuperCrew or Kyle.

             

Thursday, I did my online class from 8:30 to 4pm maybe 5pm. I deserved to go out, so Jasmine and I got dinner at The Cheesecake Factory (the one she works at, discount). Then around 11pm, went to her work's soccer game. I played and, wow, I miss soccer. Then, hot tub with them at the gym. Tried the steam room with Jasmine and it was so hard to breathe in there, we were dripping sweat after a minute of sitting in there. Oh, today, Bo (Jasmine's puppy, cocker spaniel) was given to her friend because it's too much for her too take care of. Plus, she has work so she is barely home. So sad but so true.
