Los Angeles - Part 1

One night in the library this last Fall I was so tired from studying, I started looking at plane tickets. I decided to buy one to spend time with my high school friend Jasmine (a beautiful aspiring model). I came on New Year's Eve. A layover in Las Vegas. She missed her flight home so I was at her apartment that night. The next morning I went to the Topanga Mall, bought jeans (not normal for me). By the way, she lives in the Valley, Woodland Hills. Driving in L.A. is easier than driving in Wisconsin. People drive slow, I was scared at first because I was getting on five lane freeways but after a few minutes it was cake. Picked her up at the airport New Year's night, drove around that damn LAX arrivals circle nine times. She lost both of her luggages so we waited in that service line forever to eventually find them two and a half hours later. American airlines sucks with baggage because there were at least 300 bags laying around in the baggage claim area. Then for late dinner we went to Hollywood for Swingers. The second photo is the view from her apartment.

Also, I went to Los Angeles last year this time with the National Honor Society. We did a bunch of touristy things which I don't mind but this time, I want to lay around and just go where I want when I want.

So that was first night and first full day. The next day, we slept in. I did some of my online class so I don't get behind in my work while I am here. Once we got ready, we went to drive on PCH (Pacific Coast Highway) from Topanga down to the Griffith Observatory. Walked up the hill and it was beautiful. Free to do. The sunset on the way there was gorgeous as well, driving through the mountain. After the Observatory, we had dinner at Public School where we met some old people that were awesome. We talked to them for over an hour at the self seating area. They were rad people.

Next day, Sunday. I went to The Getty Art Museum while Jasmine went to work. Uber and Lyft are life savers. My overall opinion on The Getty is that the views that you get from being up on that mountain where it's located is the best thing about it. The art was good, but I mean.. the views. I saw L.A. at night last night and today I got to see it at day time. Falling in love with this city, thinking about moving here when I graduate now. After the museum, I got some Sprinkles cupcakes for me and Jasmine. I heard bad reviews on Sprinkles, but I don't know what they are talking about because their cupcakes are so good! This day, I got chocolate marshmallow, salted caramel, triple cinnamon, and carrot. So much to choose from and so expensive. They also have an ATM that's 24/7. That night, I hung out with some pretty cool people. Cheesecake Factory for dinner. Bowling.

Monday, was wonderful. Says it was suppose to start raining this day and continue for the rest of the week. El Nino? Well, it didn't. I went to LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Art). Jasmine is sick, contagious virus. Bed rest. I had an amazing time. My favourite at LACMA was the lamps and The Treachery of Images by Rene Magritte. I think I was at that museum for over five hours. Waiting for Jasmine to pick me up, I got a compliment and it made me so happy. A guy came up to me and said that his new year's resolution was to be more confident to talk to strangers and then said that I was beautiful, "I'm not hitting on you, I just want to say that you are very beautiful". Just something I wish all guys would do every once in a while to girls. That night Jasmine and I had dinner at In-N-Out with an Irish. I got the grilled cheese (secret menu). And I did try the animal fries (no bueno). After, Jasmine and I went drove to get Sprinkles at the ATM, I got a milk chocolate and she got a red velvet. Then to Santa Monica around midnight. The tweets below will explain Santa Monica that night..
