Sedona, AZ

Originally I was going to go to Phoenix instead, but since they bailed, I decided I didn't want to go to a hot city in southern Arizona. Sedona is actually where my mom spent some time too. It is two hours south from Flagstaff on 89A. The family from the glamping site gave me a huge list of things to do on the drive. So I stopped a few times along the way. I had the whole day but it went by so quick because of all of the stuff I had planned and did. I first stopped at Oak Creek Vista Point. It's just a over look of a nice view and there were a bunch of tents set up by some navajos selling merchandise. A bunch of ponderosa trees too. So many elevation signs as well. So all of 89A is following the Oak Creek. I stopped quick to dip my feet in.

Then I stopped at Call of the Canyon, West Fork. A huge hike that he said would only take half an hour total, walking to the end and walking back. NOPE. Over an hour, close to two hours. Got lost and couldn't find the trail because the trail follows the creek and the trail will cross the creek a few times. However, I found two people, from Indiana. Helped me find the trail and then the three of us finished the trail to the end. I wanted to see Slide Rock but it is more expensive and since I took too long at this hike, I decided not to. I heard it's the same thing though. Anyway, I met Christian and his cousin's family. Then we all hiked out together. Then we all got an early dinner at a Mexican restaurant. They even invited me to their hotel to shower because my check in wasn't until 6pm or 7pm. But then I drew the line, felt a little creepy at that point. Christian also has a pet skunk Fifi or Fiora I think, youtube it.

I left them at the restaurant to go to grasshopper point. I got there knowing that people swam there and jumped off the cliffs into Oak Creek. So I had my swim suit on and I knew that I wasn't going to jump off a cliff, but I wanted to watch. Well. Before I even took my shoes and shirt off, there was a guy laying in the rocks with blood on his legs and head. A crew from the ambulance was crowded around him. I heard he went unconscious, he didn't jump in to the deep part. So no one was in the water. Everyone was scared. After they left, a guy dipped in and then I decided to. It was so cold. I even thought it would warm up if I moved and swam for a couple minutes, NO. My teeth were chattering the entire time. It was hella cold. Then some navajo boys, like around 13 years old came. They climbed the cliffs and I watched them all gain the courage to jump and play rock paper scissors to see who jumps first. Well, they finally jumped after 20 minutes. Then I was thinking to myself, I'm here and I might never get the chance to do it again. So I got in and swam to the boys and asked them if they could help me, show me how to climb the cliffs and show me where to jump. And they did it, so that means, yeah, I jumped off the cliff. It was crazy. Not high, maybe ten feet but that was the shorter one. I was very proud of myself, a huge adrenaline rush.

After that, I went to the shops. Apparently, Sedona has a thing for stones and vortex's. I walked into one of the various stone shops and fell in love. I bought myself a few and others some. They each mean something. Like my Obsidian stone is all about blocking out negative entities and stuff. My Kunzite is about heart and communication.

Then I finally got to my airbnb (place I'm staying). That night it was a bubble. I didn't see any stars, monsoon season but still a great experience.

Also! I accidentally fell and my hand hit a cactus. It hurt so bad. It was so hard to pull them out so I had to use my teeth and one of the pricks got stuck in the back left, bottom of my mouth. It hurt! Never again. I don't know what happened to it though because after two days, I couldn't feel it anymore. Also I wanted to get a tattoo of a cactus, like the one that's on the Arizona license plate but I saw none of those ones (the tall cactus with arms). None. Apparently, they're more south, Phoenix or Tuscan.
